Muddiest forest walk, with poorly marked trails we've ever experienced. To add insult to injury, when you get back to the caf, a note on the door says "no muddy boots allowed" there is an out side tap that could be used to wash your boots, but they have helpfully removed the tap handle, fortunately I had a pair of pliers in the car, but they had turned the water off too as a contingency plan!
Wonderful place, the Gruffalo trail is an excellent incentive to get the children out of the playground for a walk, though the playground is great too. The woods are great for den building and imaginative games. Caf is very warm and welcoming, it offers a really comprehensive menu and very reasonably priced. Plenty of outdoor seating and picnic space as well.
Love going here. When my son was little it was a great place to come and explore and he loved it. Now I go to visit my father's memorial bench which we had put there after his passing. Fantastic for long walks and also dog friendly. The case there offers a variety of items and staff are always very friendly.
Parking charges seem a bit much for half hour on park but overall kids had fun. Would recommend
A wonderful place to take children with good learning aids for all age groups. Each tree in the Arboretum has a detailed label. The whole site is easy access suitable for all abilities. Parking charges are reasonable.
