Stayed for a lovely peaceful night in a private room. Very quiet overnight and gently woken by the bells of the priory in the morning. Great!
An oldish building with the usual sort of inherent problems like winding corridors and lots of stairs between different levels. One major staircase is narrower than normal making case carrying a bit difficult. Otherwise my only concern would be the showers. No where to keep toiletry bag and clothes dry apart from hooks on door and the whole floor is wet making getting dressed and keeping clothing dry. Going out of door can be a bit hary as it opens onto corridor where male and female pass. My shower worked on short spurts....must be difficult for washing long hair! Lovely setting though to compensate for any problems and helpful people around to find the building in a maze of streets all called Priory!!
YHA Leominster is 10 minutes walk from the train station so really easy to get to even if you don't drive and is a really lovely little hostel. Myself and friends have booked the whole hostel out for three years running now and it's perfect for a large group.The management are on site but with whole venue hires mostly will leave you to it, it's tucked behind the church so very quiet and out of the way, sleeps up to 30 people in varying bed setups and includes disabled access and a few family rooms.There's a nice big kitchen with pretty much everything you need, plenty of room for eating and some sofas in the communal area too. There's also games which kept our party occupied for a good chunk of the evening.Overall an excellent hostel!
Nice place, well equipped, beds are incredibly hard! It's a bit dark in the lounge for reading etc. Well placed for visiting Leominster and the surrounding area.
I have to give it 5 stars as I am the manager! But our guest also agree giving us over 95% guest satisfaction score for 2017. Come and see for yourself.
