The Gruffalo trail is great fun for all lovers of the the Gruffalo story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. The wooden sculptures of the Mouse, Fox, Owl and Snake, let alone the Gruffalo are stunning. Local chainsaw carver Steve Elsby did such an amazing job with the figures, they really look like they jumped out of the books. The Gruffelo is more than 2 meters tall!The trail itself is 1.5 km long and easy for kids. The path is well prepared and flat, it can be easily done with wheelchairs and buggies, apart from visiting the Gruffalo, who stands in the middle of the forrest with no real path leading to it...Definitely worth a visit.
